I decided to play around with Petit Verdot in 2013 and, little did I know, I would fall wildly in love. Although the berries are small, there is nothing trivial about P.V. This captivating, inky, and elusive wine had to have a name to match its personality. As the winemaker, I have been as mystified by the following for this wine as I am by the grape itself.

Sexy and sassy, and pretty badassy. Her beauty draws you closer and her complexity holds you there. So much for a one night stand! Her appetite is wild! She'll unapologetically dash soy on peppercorn salami, drink root beer with Barbecue, or add red currants to creme brûlée. Dark roasted coffee is her go to. Her favorite dessert? You, back at her doorstep, asking for more.

She is evocative, like a song from your youth that transports you. Her melody consists of jasmine. Asian pear, and orange marmalade. Harmonious notes of minerality and tea leaves give her textural edge. She is delicate and playful, but never underestimate this beauty. She will distract your mind and capture your soul, like a song that stays with you long after it's over.
