There are over 3,100 whitewater river miles in the state of Idaho. We met and our story started on the Middle Fork of the Salmon and we decided to start making sparkling wine in Idaho while on a trip in Hells Canyon. Our winemaking and family journey has had many meanderings through just a fraction of those thousands of miles.

We started making wine in 2014. Hailey's parents helped plant (and now manage) our estate vineyard in 2017. We believe every great wine region in the world should make bubbles and when we started making wine in 2014, no one in Idaho had committed to making world class sparkling wine on a regular basis. So we did! With a few vintages under our belts and one year in the Idaho industry, we snagged one ton of Chardonnay and made some killer wine. Then we let it sit, and sit, and sit until it was tasting a little like an old world style traditional method sparkling wine. We have kept up with that style, allowing our wines to age on average for 3 years, sometimes longer, and sometimes not so long.

The sparkling wine we make is a tribute and thanks to the whitewater that has shaped our story. We strive to make a wine as alive as the rivers that inspire it.

We chose natural growing methods in order to obtain the strongest and richest grapes possible, with the fewest detrimental effects on the environment. As a result, the grapes have more varietal character and intense flavors. The wines benefit from this, reflecting our dedication to quality.

The vineyard is our home, literally located directly above is directly above the growing vines. As a family, we didn’t want to breathe or otherwise come in contact with traditional herbicides and pesticides. So, we found natural methods to be the right way for us to grow our grapes and tend our vineyards.

The hand pruning and individual training of each plant along with hand picked fruit at harvest ensures our estate grown wines are allowed to develop to their greatest potential. By utilizing environmentally sustainable farming practices our natural approach in the production from our vineyards illustrates not only our personal commitment to future generations of Idaho families, but to the preservation of the land itself.

Our grapes are harvested by hand rather than by machine to reduce stress or damage to the fruit, vine or soil. To be clear, our Estate grown wines are made with 100% naturally grown grapes.

A wanderlust-filled chapter unfolded during my time as an exchange student and English teacher in various regions of France, where the simple joys of life, entwined with the sacred rituals of breaking bread and sipping wine, became my muse. Inspired, I pursued studies in French Literature, seeking to weave the beauty I encountered into my daily existence. Yet, after years immersed in academia, the realization dawned that my true calling lay elsewhere.

As a graduate student at U.C. Davis, my path took an unexpected turn. Teaching French classes to pay the bills, I was introduced to students from the Viticulture and Enology program learning the language in preparation for internships in France. A realization struck – a more fitting opportunity to reignite the passion from my years in France emerged. Albeit, requiring a return to square one as I had no scientific background, I finally emerged with an M.S. in Enology.

I assumed my wine career would develop in California after having opportunities in regions like Sonoma, Carneros, and Napa Valley, working with renowned names such as Clos du Bois, Saintsbury, and Stags' Leap Winery. Family life led to a hiatus, but the desire to reconnect with my Idaho roots lingered. For years, I hauled Idaho fruit to the Napa Valley, again never expecting to leave California. However, a move back to Boise in 2012 marked a pivotal moment, anchoring my commitment to pursue my passion seriously.

The Coiled brand germinated during my tenancy at Cinder and then Telaya, before finding a space of my own at 34th and Chinden in Garden City. A recent remodel transformed the front of the building into our vibrant tasting room, fostering collaboration with local artists, musicians, chefs, and farmers. This evolution reflects our commitment to crafting more than wine – a holistic experience where every sip tells a tale of resilience, passion, and a homecoming to Idaho's winemaking heritage. We have to make hard decisions every day as adults, like whether or not to get out of bed, if you have the money for a pizza night, or should we say something to the person in front of you that just cut in line. With all this hullabaloo in life, finding a wine should be a simple process. Do we really need to read through two paragraphs of descriptions from a sommelier in some wine publishing company to know if a wine would go with our ramen noodle dinner? What the hell does it mean when it says, “tastes of river rock” or “kaleidoscopically combines moss, wet stone, gentian, buddleia, coriander, pepper, piquant yet rich nut oils, and a saline clam broth”?

You’ll find Huston Vineyards on Chicken Dinner Road, adjacent to the historic town of Huston, Idaho. As farmers, first of all, our wines begin in the vineyards, whether one of our estate vineyards or a specially-selected vineyard, which might bring a unique terroir component to our wines. I grew up as the daughter of two crazy parents who had a dream to plant a vineyard and make wine in Idaho in the 80’s. Their pioneering dream came true after years of hands-on research, dabbling in UC Davis Viticulture & Enology classes, callused hands, extreme weather events and many wine-inspired late nights. My husband, Mike McClure, and I have carried on the dream of growing uniquely-Idaho Estate vines in an organic and sustainable manner and crafting acid-driven, food friendly wines. Family-owned and operated, Indian Creek Winery truly believes in that old saying “Work hard, play hard.” Founders, Bill and Mui Stowe, have worked hard since 1982 to craft premium wines from the heart of Idaho’s Snake River Valley appellation. Second generation, Tammy Stowe-McClure and husband, Mike, stepped on board in 2005 to help continue the success of this growing winery. All the hard work has been paying off – a tight-knit wine club, consistently taking home gold medals from several wine competitions as well as being honored “Idaho Winery of the Year” in Wine Press Northwest’s Spring ’08 Edition.

From our 5 acres of pollinator gardens to hosting community events such as Raptor Fest, Hermit Music Fest, and WinoLympics – it’s all a part of sharing our love of sustainable farming along with crafting wine & unique experiences at Indian Creek Winery. Our Winemaker, Mike McClure, believes while the art of winemaking is enjoyable and a craft, that the wine is actually made in the vineyard. The difference in oak, aging, fermentation vessels, etc. isn’t as important as the daily vineyard decisions on the final wine. Irrigation, canopy management, organic practices for healthy soils, disease control and crops loads are all important practices to crafting a beautiful wine.

Stowe Vineyard is our Estate 20 acre vineyard on our unique caliche soils. Set at 2,700 feet elevation in a climate of 4 seasons and an average of 12″ rainfall each year. The vast Idaho mountain ranges provide snowmelt into Boise’s Luckypeak Reservoir which then feeds the farmlands mostly west of Boise. We have large diurnal ranges between warmer daytime temperatures to help foster sugar development, but cool nights to help preserve the acidity, freshness and aromatic compounds.

Our most popular wines are our Pinot Noir, Star Garnet, Cabernet Sauvignon, Dry Rosé, Tempranillo,  Viognier, Riesling and White Pinot Noir along with our small-lot wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Moscato, Malbec, Petit Verdot and our Ruby Dahlia Port. We offer shipping online to 41 states, our wines are offered in select retail outlets throughout Idaho, and if visiting we offer flight boards, wines by-the-glass and by the bottle to enjoy in the gardens or take home for a rainy day.

We opened our winery and tasting room in December 2019 in Idaho’s Snake River Valley. While the focus at Kerry Hill is producing beautiful, nuanced wines, our land is used for more than just growing grapes. We’ve designed our landscape to attract and nurture pollinators, owls, bats and raptors—providing them with native plants, flowers, and shelter. Respectful farming practices like these not only lead to better wine, but to a healthier ecosystem for the Snake River Valley and beyond. We are Salmon Safe certified as well as LIVE certified!
Kerry Hill's vineyard is about 35 years old on 30 acres in the lovely Sunny Slope Region of the Snake River Valley AVA.
Our vineyard grows 11 different varietals of grapes. The majority of our wines are produced from grapes grown on our estate vineyard, including Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Tempranillo, Petit Verdot, Port, Carménère, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay. We also make a beautiful Pinot Noir from grapes grown in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. We're just on the other side of the Snake River from Homedale and have lovely views of Owyhees.
The Habitat Area around the property is full of raptors, owls, bees, wildflowers and more!
Kerry Hill is more than a winery and a vineyard. We are creating a healthy ecosystem throughout our property. We are a Certified Bee Friendly Farmer and we are a Certified Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation. Nurturing biodiversity creates stronger vines which helps us grow better grapes and make delicious wine. We love sharing our property with an array of plants, animals, and insects.
The habitat area is just a stone's throw from the winery. If you're feeling adventurous prepare for a short hike! It's worth it to see the strip of land that many animals call home!

Koenig Vineyards was founded in 1995 with the goal of hand-crafting small lots of fine varietal wines from the Sunny Slope District of Idaho’s Snake River Valley. 

The unique volcanic and alluvial soils of the Sunny Slope District combine with Idaho’s high-altitude, arid climate of sunny days and cool nights to produce wine grapes with ripe flavors and balanced natural acidity. It is our ultimate goal to discover vineyard sites and practice wine-growing methods that best convey the remarkable terroir within this exciting up-and-coming viticulture appellation.

Minimal intervention in the cellar and dedication to traditional winemaking craft allowed our founder, Greg Koenig to curate a winemaking style that the new owners, James and Sydney Nederend have adopted.

It is our goal to bottle wines indicative of their vineyard origin. Varieties produced include Viognier and Syrah – varieties that do exceptionally well in Idaho – as well as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling, Sangiovese, Petite Sirah, Chardonnay and Port-style dessert wines using spirits from the Koenig family distillery. Occasional weather conditions also allow for the production of Ice Wine and botrytis-infected late-harvest wines.

In 2011, a few wine enthusiast friends got together to create a way for premium wine to be available for glass pours at restaurants and bars. Those enthusiasts created Proletariat Wine Company where high quality wine was put in reusable stainless steel kegs to be poured on tap by the glass. The result was a cost efficient, environmentally friendly, no waste wine by the glass program for the restaurant/bar, and an excellent wine for the working class masses at a reasonable price.

Today, that same wine is available in bottles to be consumed at home and wherever it travels!

Proletariat Wine Company brings high quality, otherwise expensively priced wines to wine lovers everywhere...at very reasonable prices. We proudly make wines from Northwest USA American Viticultural Areas (AVAs).

Proletariat has been committed to sustainability and the environment since its inception by offering a wine on tap system to restaurants and bars. The kegs used in this system are charged with nitrogen for optimal preservation and because oxygen never touches the wine, it doesn't oxidize at the same rate as normal glass pours.

The Pintlers saw a greater potential in the steep, south sloping hills, and set out to grow wine grapes. Known for Riesling, Pinot Gris, Syrah, Merlot and Tempranillo, the winery, the Snake River Valley and Idaho have gained increasing national acclaim with winemaker Meredith Smith leading its program. The Sawtooth label is distinctly unique, depicting the jagged Sawtooth mountains and conveying the grandeur of Idaho\'s scenic wilderness and sporting. Telaya started in 2008, when we produced 50 cases of carefully conceived wine. We’ve grown quite a bit since then. Our facility — which includes a full production space and tasting room — is located right on the Boise Greenbelt, just minutes from downtown and a few feet from the Boise River. Guests can enjoy tasting flights, glasses and bottles of our Washington and Idaho wine while overlooking the scenic river.

Welcome to Van Patten Cellars, a family-owned winery with a family history of making wine in Idaho. Our story begins with brothers Curt and Michael Van Patten, who grew up on a farm in the Magic Valley where their father, Howard, made fruit wine.
Curt, a University of Idaho Forestry graduate, worked in the field until he retired from Idaho Power in 2020. But he never lost the tradition for winemaking and continued to make his own wine over the years.
Michael, with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Idaho, developed his winemaking skills through Viticulture and Enology classes at Treasure Valley Community College. When he's not working at a leading semiconductor company, he's meticulously tending to the winemaking process.
Before they established Van Patten Cellars, Curt and Michael each planted their own vineyards, honing their winemaking skills and perfecting their craft. Today, they are proud to offer a range of high-quality wines, made with passion and expertise.

Vizcaya Winery is a boutique winery conveniently located just minutes from either Boise or Nampa.  Our wines are produced from estate vineyards in Meridian and Kuna.  Vizcaya Winery has been awarded Platinum, Double Gold/Best of Class, Silver, and bronze medals for Tempranillo, Albarino, Malbec, Rose', and Windy Ridge Red (red blend).
