Mataro aka Mourvedere. The 2022 vintage presented one of my most significant logistical hurdles. A heavy crop across most vineyards coincided with warm fall weather, causing rapid sugar increase in the grapes. Remarkably, despite the elevated alcohol level the 2022 reds avoid any "hot" or boozy characteristics. Aged in 40% new French oak for 10 months. This brooding wine displays earthiness, white pepper, and red fruit.

A light and crisp rose made from "scraps". The Scavenger is a wine that embrases curiosity and resourcefulness. Often misunderstood, scavengers inspire us to uncover the value in otherwise be overlooked. Raise your glass to a wine that celebrates the relentless pursuit of the unknown.

The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc originates from Skyline Vineyard Block 6. Initially not included in our 2023 plan, we were delighted to received a mid-harvest all offering these grapes. Ever since my time in New Zealand, I've been eager to work with this fantastic varietal.

Our 2023 Chardonnay was a vintage of experimentation. Machine-picked, the grapes were divided into three distinct styles: unbaked, hyper-oxidized, and traditional barrel fermentation. The Unoaked Chardonnay ids crisp, clean, and refreshingly light. A style I truly enjoy. The "unstable" part reflects a minimal intervention approach to fining and cold stabilization. This means you might encounter some haziness or tartrate crystals in the bottle over time. These are harmless and simply a conversation starter about this particular wine making process.

This Syrah was hand-picked, the grapes were placed whole (without destemming or crushing) into a 300-gallon tank. Sealed shut, the tank was then purged with CO2 and left undisturbed for one month. Carbonoic maceration is a winemaking technique where whole grapes ferment from the inside out in a carbon dioxide-rich environment. This method promotes softer tannins and results in a fruit-forward wine meant for early enjoyment.

The Casi is an easy drinking red wine meant to be served chilled.

Amber Wine (Skin Ferment Riesling + Rosé) Riesling from Skyline Vineyards was harvested and put directly into tank for 6 months. Whole cluster, wild fermentation with extended skin and stem contact created an intensely tannic and robust wine. This was balanced with a pale rose of Carmenere and Mourvedre to add fruity components and softness. The resulting wine displays notes of peach, stone fruit, and spice with bright acidity and firm tannins. Named to celebrate the birth of the winemaker’s son.

This Riesling comes from block 17 at Skyline Vineyard. The pressed juice underwent tank fermentation under temperature control and was left with a subtle touch of residual sugar. As an experiment, I intentionally oxidized 10% of the hardest-pressed Riesling juice before allowing it to ferment with wild yeast. Afterward, both portions of the Riesling were blended before undergoing filtration and bottling. The result is a Riesling that is slightly drier than the 2021 vintage, yet it still exhibits an excellent balance of flavors. R.S. - 9.0g/L

Gold Medal, 2023 Cascadia Wine Competition This delightful dry rosé is crafted using Grenache grapes sourced from block 70 of Sawtooth Vineyard. The fruit was machine-picked in the morning and transferred to the press after 4 hours, imparting the rosé with it’s beautiful pink color. The juice was transferred to neutral barrels, where it underwent both alcohol fermentation and malolactic fermentation. The result is a rosé with a subtle hint of sweetness upfront, followed by a clean and refreshing finish.

The Scavenger is primarily a Syrah-based blend, making up 73% of the composition, while Grenache and Mourvèdre contribute 17% and 10%, respectively, to round out the flavors. By exclusively using previously used barrels and employing a shorter aging process, we can really focus on the fruit flavors of the varietals in this wine. As a result, we can offer this high-quality wine at a significantly more approachable price per bottle.

The 2021 Venture GSM, formerly known as Avignon, is a blend of Grenache (32%), Syrah (39%), and Mourvèdre (29%). This particular version of the GSM is sourced from Idaho Vineyards, specifically from Sawtooth Vineyard Block 70, 71, and 72. The wine is characterized by dark fruit and spice aromas on the nose, which complement the black pepper notes on the palate. It offers good acidity, providing the wine with length, while mild tannins contribute to a well-balanced profile. The wine was aged in 15% new French oak barrels, and only 77 cases of this particular vintage were produced.

The name meaning the "Accomplice". Each year the blend has searched to explore new flavors while always attempting to partner non-traditional wines to blend together. The 2022 Le Compere features: Syrah, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in a mix of American and French Oak barrels. This wine boasts a fuller body than pervious years while remaining balanced and enjoyable.
